Beschreibung

- 90-92 Punkte JEFF LEVE: "Licorice, smoke, herbs, es-presso, plums and cocoa make up the nose. On the palate, the wine is rich, opu-lent, soft, fresh and fruity with silky tan-nins and a touch of peppery spice in the fruity finish.“

- YVES BECK: "Fruity bouquet with good intensi-ty. Notes of red berries and spices. On the pa-late the wine is slender and slightly creamy. The tannins are serene, perfectly integrated and pro-vide a good backbone. Nice fruity expression on the finish.“

- 91-92 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "Smooth tannins and dark fruit with olives and nuts on a medium body, making this an attractive barrel sample."

- 91 Punkte TERRE DE VIN: "Creamy, coated, the nose dis-plays a pomaded profile on well ripened black and red fruit. Lovely centred and biting juice, energetic, crisp and fine in nature, slightly warm on the finish but signed by a lovely gree-diness."

- 90-91 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perroti-Brown: "Deep purple-black in colour, Palais Cardinal offers pure blackberry, boysenberry and crushed kirsch notes, along with suggestions of mossy tree bark and uns-moked cigars. The medium-bodied palate is packed with crisp black and red fruits, framed by a lively backbone and rounded tannins, and finishes with a refreshing touch."

- 89-91 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: "Bright, clean notes of black raspberry and blackberry as well as new leather, flowers, and chalky minerals emerge from the 2020 Palais Cardinal, a medium-bodied, con-centrated, beautifully made St.-Emilion. It should keep for 10-12 years, probably longer."

- Bronze-Medaille Concours des Vignerons Indépandants 2019

- Journal Le Monde (6/2020): "It takes a little time to open, so a one or two hour decanter ideally. Because it is expressed with delica-cy, between raspberries and spices, in a slender structure. A good example which shows that we can expand without losing quality, since the estate grew from 4 to 22 hec-tares between 2008 and 2018."

- GOLD-MEDAILLE Frankfurt International Trophy 2021

Notizen des Weinguts: Chateau Palais Cardinal is our main wine. According to the traditional methods to make a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, we use a majority of Merlot, complete with Cabernet Sauvigon and Cabernet Franc. Aged during 18 month in oak barrels, the Palais Cardinal offers attractive black fruit ans incense notes on the well-defined bouquet. The palate is medium- bodied with a little oak on the entry, though it has an attractive supple texture, well-judged acidity and a comely, silky smooth finish. This long keeping wine is perfect to drink with red meat like beef ribs or duck.
