- 91-93 Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: „Very deep purple-black colored, the 2020 Olivier offers vibrant notions of wild blueberries, blackberry preserves and cassis, plus hints of clove oil, cinnamon stick and tree bark, with a waft of dusty soil. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly played with soft tannins and seamless freshness supporting the restrained black and blue fruit flavors, finishing earthy.“

- 93-95 Punkte WINE ENTHUSIAST, Roger Voss: „Barrel Sample. This estate with its moated castle is producing some very fine wines. This latest vintage shows both power and density with concentrated blackberry flavor from the ripe fruits. The wine will need time before maturity.“

- 91-93 Punkte FALSTAFF, Peter Moser: „Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarter Ockerrand.

- 93 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: „Inky depths, one of the most concentrated Oliviers I have seen in terms of its colour. This hangs in tightly from the start, is not afraid of flexing its tannins, not exuberant but there is plenty of flavour here. Recommend giving it a good six to eight years to soften, but it is showing confidence and depth of flavour. Spicy black pepper and liquorice notes - great quality actually. A little bitter on the finish, as I am finding with several, as the concentration just overtakes the final sign off. Good though, I recommend. Drinking Window 2028 – 2040“

- 16,5 Punkte JANCIS ROBINSON: „Full bottle just 1,285 g. Cask sample taken 6 April if I am reading the handwriting correctly. 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, according to the château, although that doesn't add up to 100. Aged for 12 months in barrels (35% new).
Exceptionally deep colour. Blackish purple. Rather sumptuous nose. Round and sweet and (initially) apparently tannin-free! This seems to be taking ripeness to the limit and just lacks a little freshness but obviously a heck of a lot of work has gone into this. Another wine for those who value opulence. Noticeably sweeter than most of its peers.“

- 90-92 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: „Tasted on two separate occasions, the 2020 Château Olivier is another outstanding Graves from this vintage that offers lots of classic appellation character in its ripe black cherry and darker berry fruit as well as tobacco, gravelly earth, cold fireplace, and smoky aromas and flavors. It’s medium to full-bodied and has a textured, rounded mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.“

- 92-93 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: „Lots of blackberry, black-olive and blueberry aromas with some smoke. Medium-to full-bodied with fine tannins and a lively finish. Polished young red.“

Trinkfenster 2028-2040“
