- 89-91+ Punkte Robert Parkers WINE ADVOCATE, Lisa Perrotti-Brown: "This 20-hectare vineyard in Saint-Lambert (currently 17.33 hectares are in production) is planted to a density of 10,000 vines per hectare with an average age in 2018 of 60 years. The wine is aging in 50% new barrels and 50% second year barrels. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Deep purple-black colored, the 2018 Fonbadet reveals intense notions of freshly crushed blackcurrants, kirsch and blackberry coulis with touches of truffles, crushed rocks, black pepper and unsmoked cigars. Medium-bodied and laden with ripe, juicy fruit, it has a soft, plush texture and just enough freshness, finishing earthy."

- 91-94 Punkte VINOUS, Antonio Galloni: "The 2018 Fonbadet is gorgeous. Deep, pliant and expressive, the 2018 has so much to offer. In this vintage, Fonbadet has a bit more depth and overall richness than is often the case, which is not a bad thing at all. Black plum, spice and leather all resonate into the striking, textured finish. The 2018 is very nicely done. There are just 3,500 bottles of this fine and promising Pauillac. The blend is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Tasted three times."

- 91 Punkte DECANTER, Jane Anson: "This really is a successful Fonbadet full of rich dark liquorice that feels extremely typical of the appellation. The tannins are present but not rustic with a sense of vibrancy and uplift through the finish alongside a quickening feeling of slate minerality.
A yield of 55hl/ha suggests there was such natural ripeness in this vintage that low yields were not necessary to get this intensity of flavour. No need to wait too long to get going on this. Drinking Window 2025 ? 2040"

- 17 Punkte Rene Gabriels BORDEAUX TOTAL, Andre Kunz: "Kunz Fassprobe 19: (75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot) Dunkles, kräftiges Bouquet, Cassis, Brombeeren, dunkler Tabak, Edelhölzer. Ausgewogener, voller Gaumen mit dunkler Frucht, viel gutem Tannin, fein cremiger, muskulöser Struktur, vielfältiger Aromatik, langer, herber, aromatischer Abgang. Kann noch zulegen."

- 91-93 Punkte JEB DUNNUCK: "I loved the 2018 Château Fonbadet, a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend (there?s 25% Merlot) that?s aging in 50% new French oak. Classic Pauillac notes of cassis, lead pencil, graphite, cold fireplace, and ample earthy minerality all flow to a medium to full-bodied, elegant wine that stays tight, focused, and structured on the palate. It?s going to need 4-5 years of bottle age, but it?s a beauty."

- 91-92 Punkte JAMES SUCKLING: "Pretty, bright dark fruit with blueberry and currant aromas and flavors. Medium body and firm, silky tannins."
